Company History

RSI Inc. was founded in 1983 as a Texas Corporation in Pfluggerville, Texas.  The main business was as a Raychem distributor for the Texas market.  The company grew from that small start to supporting customers throughout the US and international customers.  It added lines of some of the finest producers of materials and parts in the world to include Tyco, Tyco Thermal Contols (formally Raychem), Deutsch, 3M, Chomerics among others.  In 1994, the CRI Division was established to support the growing trend by the armed forces to use repackaged and ruggedized Commercial-Off-the-Shelf electronics in lieu of the previous practice of developing Mil-Spec products for the components up to integrated systems. 

In 1997 RSI Inc. moved its headquarters to Austin, TX while maintaining it sales and warehousing facility in Pfluggerville.  The Austin facility was also the headquarters for the CRI Division and housed its engineering, manufacturing and test organizations.  In 1998, RSI was designated one of the 50 fastest growing companies in Austin.  RSI continues to grow by adding capabilities and services to support our expanding custmer based.  In addition to stocking distribution, and rugged electronics design and manufacture, we have added value-added fabrication of environmental and EMI gaskets, cable and wire harness design and fabrication, and Built-to-Print services for electromechanical assemblies, cables and wire harnesses, and rack integration.  RSI has established partnerships with Silicon Graphics and CISCO as authorized integrators and developed reseller/integrator solutions with 3M, HP, Dell, Tandberg, and SUN.

In January 2008, RSI Inc. Headquarters, the CRI Division and Value-Added manufacturing moved into its new 40,000 sq. ft. building in Kyle, TX.  This faciltiy was custom designed to optimize manufacturing and warehousing.
